One of my jobs is going to be washing clients hair. I found out that washing a clients hair is not at easy as it looks... there is something to juggling the water hose in one hand and being able to wash hair with the other, while not spraying yourself and your client at the same time. After watching client’s hair being washed throughout the day it was my time to get my hands wet. (Little did I know that my hands would not be the only thing getting wet!)
My "first client" was a sweet middle school girl whose mom had graciously allowed me to practice on. Instead of lowering the basin to fit to the girls neck, the lever I pulled is used to turn the water on... the result: I got a refreshing and unexpected cool down... all over my face! I could feel my mascara running and I felt like a wet rat... an attractive look for a salon employee, right? I somehow managed to finish shampooing and conditioning her hair with only a few more occasional squirts. I think it's safe to say that girl has never had her hair washed quite like that. If nothing else, we all definitely got a good laugh, but I still have some practicing to do...
Helpful tip: When learning how to wash a clients hair be prepared to get a little wet!
